Medium format 120mm film, a better choice for architectural photography.

120mm is medium format photographic film. The larger the original, the better the quality. 120mm format is a good alternative to 4x5 when a roll film camera is more practical.

The camera shown above is a 120mm film camera. We use 120mm when we need a roll film camera.

Unlike the 4 x 5 large format sheet film camera (that requires the film to be loaded sheet by sheet for each exposure), the advantage of our 120mm cameras is that the image size remains quite large (120mm), yet the film comes in rolls of 24.

A roll of 25mm film on the left, compared to a roll of 120mm on the right.

We shoot 4 x 5 whenever practical, however, the 120mm is a fine substitute and still offers much higher resolution and color range quality than digital alternatives.
